The story of the Yahk Soap and Candle Company began with Tammy and Bryce’s shared background in emergency services. Tammy, an Emergency Medical Dispatcher, and Bryce, an Emergency Medical Technician, met in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 2001. Their playful banter—Tammy often joked that she told Bryce where to go—laid the foundation for a partnership that extended beyond their careers.
Tammy soon founded EarthWear Face and Body Products, creating natural skincare and bath products that became a staple at the Saskatoon Farmers Market. However, a longing for a more fulfilling lifestyle and the allure of the Kootenays brought the couple to Cranbrook, BC. In 2017, they made their dream a reality by purchasing The Yahk Soap Shop and Two Scoop Steve, rebranding the soap shop into what we now know as the Yahk Soap and Candle Company.

Tammy and Bryce breathed new life into the business, launching a completely new line of handmade products. Their offerings include:

They also enhanced Two Scoop Steve’s with a grill, serving up freshly made burgers and fries. These thoughtful additions have transformed Yahk into a vibrant destination, drawing both Kootenay locals and visitors to experience its unique charm.
