Introducing a new podcast The Wealthy Acre Covering everything Real Estate, Wealth, Investments, Homesteading and the gorgeous Creston Valley. My goal is to interview experts in their field, as I don’t have all the answers or claim to. And its important to learn from one another. This platform will be to give people a voice, have raw and real, open conversations, and for all of us to learn a great deal from them. I started my career on the West Coast in Real Estate in 2010 (previous I worked as a sales manager for the hospitality industry), I have built a successful real estate business there, before moving to the Creston Valley in 2021 for the Lifestyle. To have horses in my back yard, a garden and a small homestead – is a truly a dream come true. Making such a move would seem risky with our jobs, leaving our support system, however my husband and I felt confident and we had faith it will all work out that this will be the best move for us, and we were right. Nothing is easy in life, especially when you are learning new things – and I would take these challenges anytime. We had to learn an incredible amount of homesteading stuff * ie: building fencing, hooking up a horse trailer, operating a tractor, milling, cutting down trees, chopping wood, and so much more. When people learnt we moved here on an acreage to do a little homesteading – their initial comment was “ Simple Life” … I giggle, as we are far from simple , or easy. However wouldn’t change it for the world, and would do it a thousand times over. I was humbled by starting my career from scratch, not knowing anyone, I decided to swim uphill, and not change my phone # to the local area code, nor the brokerage to a local one. I was determined to do things my way, and differently than the rest. I wanted to bring a fresh perspective to the Valley, and a fresh and new way to do things. Had to learn about wells, septic, acreages, nuances of each subarea, the community and so much more… The community welcomed us with open arms, warmth and friendliness. We were introduced to Creston by visiting our friends that moved here years before us. We fell in love with the valley instantly ! We came to visit them again in 2020 Aug long weekend, and looked at 2 properties, we were only looking on line prior to that.. so this was exciting. And non of the properties were perfect, but we fell in love with one because of the location, we knew we could make it our own with time. Yes we used a local realtor – because even though I could save a few thousand dollars by doing it myself.. I am a strong believer of …. Working with the local expert in the area. And then in early 2021 we bought an investment property in the town of Creston, fixed it up and expended our real estate portfolio. I Love real estate so much! I am so passionate about helping people succeed, learning and self-development. I believe learning and growing should never stop. I am looking forward to sharing my guests with you, and learning together.
