12 Days of Christmas Giveaway 2023

Once again Diana teamed up with some very generous local business, for our 3rd annual 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway! There was an outpouring of local businesses wanting to help spread Holiday Cheer! Which meant there were multiple days that two prizes were won! What an amazing community we live in! This Giveaway would not have been possible without the generosity of these following Creston businesses.

On the 1st Day of Christmas RED BARN FARM Gave to Me a Gift Basket of Garden Treats! Winner – Amanda McLean!

Ken and Carol opened the storefront of Red Barn Farm downtown Creston in 2020, but had been growing seedlings from home since 2017. They are passionate about everything from gardening to animals to homesteading, and it shows! Together they strive to make a happy and welcoming atmosphere for all who come in. Red Barn Farm is packed with everything and anything you could possibly need for your homestead and garden. LARK COFFEE ROASTERS Gave to Me an Assortment of Coffee! Winner – Zora Braun!

Lark Coffee Roasters has a great respect for the many hands and hearts that work to create a cup of coffee, those who grow, process, ship and so much more. They are thrilled to be a tiny part of that chain. Owned and operated by Ilana Cameron who discovered roasting coffee is her life’s passion. Ilana sources seasonally and with an eye on bringing delicious and delightful flavours to your cup. Lark buys their coffee from single farms, women-owned farms, co-ops and indigenous producers. The coffee they buy is almost all grown organically, and would note if it is not. Lark won third place in the Forward Lottery roasting competition. PURE HONEY PRODUCTS gave to me a Jar of Fireweed Honey! Winner – Raina Roth!

Tim’s Fish & Chips is a little Fish and Chips shop in Creston where you definitely get your bang for your buck! The portions are huge, and so tasty! These guys know how to make delicious fish and chips! They make English style fish and chips, house made tartare sauce, fresh chowder, coleslaw and also have Brasher chicken for those who would rather not have fish. The atmosphere is very welcoming and pleasant. Michelle opened her Coffee House in 2008, with the hopes to plant some roots in our community. And that is just what happened, as the business grew so did her family. Crooked Horn Ranch is a small family owned and operated business focusing on raising Quality Beef and Pork in a stress-free environment. Jordan & Kristi started Crooked Horn Ranch about 4 years ago after doing a trial run first. They focus mainly on Longhorn Beef, but also raise a small number of pigs from spring to fall. They also sell some cattle and horse products that they’ve grown to love.

Why longhorn beef? They are lower in saturated fat than most beef, lower in calories and cholesterol compared to chicken. Longhorn is tender and great tasting. The Longhorn cattle are “naturally lean.” This does not mean they don’t have fat. It is genetically leaner with the less waste fat. All of their Cattle is naturally grown without hormones, steroids, implants or laced with antibiotics of any kind. Longhorns marble excellent with a thin amount of waste back fat. Dustin Rogers started his construction company in Creston 16 years ago, building and renovating homes. He believes in completing each job with quality workmanship. With an artistic eye and a love to create, Dustin builds timber framed gazebos, pavilions, and entryways, custom furniture, cutting boards, cabinets, and dining tables. He also builds and fixes guitars. As much as possible, in his furniture and timber work, Dustin uses traditional joinery such as Mortis and Tenon and Dovetail joints.
